This three-day seminar opened with a unique blend of demonstrations, instruction, lecture and practical application of the martial art of aikido. The focus was on basic technique as derived from Kojiki - as it was conceived by its founder,O-Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba. There were many martial artists from different styles, from beginners to advanced instructors participated.

Abe Sensei's instruction focused on aspects of misogi-no-gyo - the path of purification essential to understanding kokyu-ho, sei-shin-roku and ki (breath power, mind power and life force). Sensei also showed the connection between Aikido and calligraphy in an incredible demonstration where he performs both arts at the same time. Abe Sensei brought Haruo Matsuoka Sensei with him as his special guest to assist him throughout the seminar. Matsuoka Sensei led a special class after the regular Saturday training. The techniques were powerful and pointed to the basic elements on which Abe Sensei's instruction had been focusing.
